Two hours on the water. Total time about 5 hours with transportation.

Tours start at 7am and go every hour on the hour.
The afternoon tours - 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm - are opened up after the morning tours are sold out (to maximize calmer oceans and customer comfort).

Various ending times from 10am-3pm

You'll definitely want to drive yourself out to this one (the cost for an economy car rental for the day costs the same as the shark cage transportation) so that you can see the rest of the North Shore and the island afterwards!

If you feel yourself getting sea-sick try going standing on deck and looking at the horizon.

Souvenires available aboard ship. Advanced notice recommended for DVD.

Bring your underwater camera! We rent them from our Waikiki store if you want to borrow one of ours.

Shark Cage - Even the birds watch the sharks

Depart from the Haleiwa Boat Harbor, 35 miles away and on the opposite side of the island from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, and travel out to sea on the vessel Kai Lolo (“Crazy Sea”) to start your adventure. Marine wildlife sightings are common on the trip out to sea, so keep a look-out for dolphins, Hawaiian green sea turtles, and humpback whales (during whale season, December – May).

At three to four miles out to sea the cage is placed into the beautiful blue water, and then the fun really begins. The water is remarkably clear, with visibility often exceeding 200 feet, making the shark cage an excellent and safe vantage point for viewing the sharks, which range from five to fifteen feet in length. Watch as they emerge from the deep and swim inches away from the secure metal cage. Featured sharks include the Gray Reef, Galapagos, Sandbar and Hammerhead sharks with Tiger Sharks making occasional appearances.

The best time to book the tour is in the morning when conditions are normally better. Seas and winds are calmer and make for a smoother, less choppy experience.

Please note that this tour is cancelled on windy/stormy days as that presents unsafe conditions for being in the shark cage. Cancellations due to weather are subject to a full refund or rescheduling.

Also, this shark cage tour is able to accommodate all levels of abilities including those who may be confined to a wheelchair, paraplegic or quadriplegic as long as they are able to drive out to the boat harbor.
