Diamond Head is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Hawaii and can be seen just about anywhere from Waikiki beach. The crater is a United States State Monument, home to a National Guard facility, and the site for a very popular hike.
Old World War II military bunkers and radar stations are dotted along the rim, and the trail ends at one of those, offering a decent workout and one of the best views of the island.
In this tour, you will be picked up from your Waikiki hotel and driven to Diamond Head Crater in an air-conditioned van (admission fee included).
Hike up the crater side along a mostly unpaved trail roughly 2 miles, over uneven rock and through an old World War II bunker, at the top of which you will be treated to one of the best views around.
Your tour guide is well-versed in everything Diamond Head, and then some. Use of walking sticks and complimentary bottled water are also provided on this tour.
Bring a hat and sunglasses and definitely wear sunscreen, as almost all of this hike will leave you exposed to the sun. And, of course, don't forget to bring your camera!
